Thickening Therapeutic Plots:
a Narrative Therapy Consultation Group with Julie Stewart
Do you love narrative ideas in theory, but are having a hard time weaving them into your practice? Have you wanted to explore post-modern therapeutic lenses but feel a bit intimidated? Did you complete an awesome narrative therapy training and you’re looking for ongoing support to sharpen your skills? Are you a narrative practitioner having a hard time finding a consultation space that is both 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming AND centres narrative ideas? This small, focused consultation group will help you bring narrative practice, and complimentary systemic and response-based methods alive in your work.
We are seeking post-modern practitioners willing to explore the "why" behind their questions, the role of the social and systemic in their work, and bringing subordinated stories to the fore. We want to center 2SLGBTQIA+ lives and a queer sensibility to hone effective, useful, justice-driven counselling practices.
Registrations Open Now until September
This supervision and consultation group is intentionally designed to provide space for practitioners to stand together at our learning edge and grow our practices in a co-created a community. In order to do this, it’s vital that the cohort not be too big which is why I’m limiting each group to 8 people. Due to the limited capacity of the program and with the goal of creating enough safety, I’m inviting interested individuals to submit an expression of interest using the form below. You’ll hear back from me shortly after you submit the form. Once you’re accepted, you’ll select a payment option that works best for you and away we go!
Sessions will run Thursdays 12-2 pm Eastern time, once a month for 6 months. Please check your time zone and how daylight savings (or not) in your province affects these times.
Dates:

Pricing
A core component of this offering is the commitment to your own growth and to being in community with one another. This is reflected in the pricing policies. In signing up for this group, you are committing to the full 6 months.
This program fee is offered on a scale, and I invite you to select an amount within that which feels aligned and accessible for you. It can sometimes be tough to figure out where to land, so I encourage you to consider how much you charge for your full-fee clients, how much of your caseload is sliding scale, your personal financial situation (housing, costs of living etc.), and your own intersections of privilege and marginalization. The rate you choose should not put you in financial hardship and should simultaneously honour the experience you will receive through the program. The rate you select will not impact your acceptance into the program, as you will determine this rate after you have been accepted.
Fee Scale: $560 - $1120 CAD
(This fee scale is for the entire program, and works out to a range of $46-$94 per hour. Clinical Supervision is tax exempt.)
Upon acceptance to the program, you will select one of three payment options, then you’ll let us know the total amount you want to pay between the bottom and top range provided above:
Option 1: Payment in Full

Meet Julie
Julie is most interested in supporting clinicians to practice in ways that are ethical and authentic to them while being the most useful and least harmful to the people they serve. Their approach to supervision is grounded in narrative practice, so it is:
dignifying of the therapist’s skills, knowledges, relationships, ethics, and values that inform their practices
informed by my social constructionist leanings and inviting the clinician to their own answers using questions and a co-researcher stance
interested in the function of power and systemic ways of looking at problems
Julie is an RSW in AB, BC, and ON
