Jade Giff
Hi, I’m Jade (she/they)
I'm a cisgender, queer, Black, and neurodivergent counsellor. I work and reside on the traditional territory of the Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples, also known as the Greater Toronto Area. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
I’m incredibly passionate about intersectionality and the ways in which our held identities inform how we navigate relationships, health & well-being, trauma, and the world as a whole. I recognize how challenging it can be to find safe and affirming spaces that take these identities into account, especially when working towards personal growth, self-exploration, and healing. I strive to create a non-judgemental, validating, and open environment where you can address various challenges, explore your emotions and core beliefs, and navigate transitions and life changes, while developing skills, strategies, and tools that you can take beyond the therapeutic setting.
I root my work in intersectionality and feminism, preferring an integrative process using different aspects of multiple theories and approaches. Generally, I lean towards an explorative process, leaving ample room for us to work together and mold the therapeutic experience to suit your unique needs and experiences. Regardless of how we choose to work together, exploration, flexibility, validation, and gentle challenging will always remain foundational.
My areas of focus include:
Navigating ethical non-monogamy and non-traditional relationship dynamics
Exploring sexual expression and various forms of intimacy
Intersectionality (i.e., exploring the unique challenges created by intersections between race, gender, sexuality, religion, etc.)
Communication and interpersonal skills
Navigating life transitions
Neurodiversity
Outside of the therapeutic setting, I thrive on exploring various hobbies. I’m drawn to anything and everything ‘nerdy,’ mainly gaming, dungeons & dragons, magic the gathering, anime, and manga. I love and appreciate fashion, pole-dancing, and reading and I’m hoping to get into some craftier hobbies.
If you’re curious about what working together could look like, I welcome you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to explore your options further!
