This is consultation done differently.

This is consultation rooted in community, solidarity, and belonging.

This is where consultation becomes collective care.

Starts September 2026

Limited Spots Available

Clinical consultation should be about more than just interventions, treatment plans, and ethical dilemmas. For Two-Spirit, queer and trans clinicians of colour, our work can’t be separated from who we are.

We belong to the communities we’re serving. We’re often struggling with similar social, cultural and political pressures as our clients, holding our own pain as we’re trying to support others.

I want to support clinicians like me, who understand this on a gut level.

We shouldn’t have to edit ourselves when we come to a consultation. We need a space where we don’t have to educate our straight or white colleagues, caretake white fragility, or hide parts of ourselves to make others comfortable or keep ourselves safe.

This group is a space where 2SQTIBPOC clinicians can bring their whole selves. A place where we don’t need to explain or justify our identities and experiences. Where honouring the impacts of systemic oppression on our clients and ourselves is part and parcel of case discussion.

Together, we’ll make space for grief, joy, anger, and all the other big feels this work brings up. We’ll celebrate victories and share solidarity, resources and collective wisdom. We’ll challenge one another, hone our practice, and strengthen our collective ability to support our communities without sacrificing our own well-being.

Whether you work in private practice, community mental health or a different context, this will be a space where you don’t have to explain why your voice matters or why today’s political climate harms both you and your clients. You’ll be surrounded by colleagues and comrades who already “get it”.

Let’s create a community of professional helpers committed to anti-oppressive, decolonial, and culturally affirming practice for our clients and each other. Through consultation, reflection, and shared learning, we’ll build a space that reminds us that we’re not alone in this work.

Testimonials for Shadi K

Mak Mackie (they/them)

“Shadi has extensive expertise supporting people impacted by trauma, including gender-based and sexualized violence, racialized and colonial violence, as well as neurodivergence, chronic illness, and disability. They meet clients and supervisees with humility, respect, and deep compassion, creating spaces where healing, empowerment, and authentic connection can unfold.”

“I recommend Shadi wholeheartedly to anyone seeking an exceptional counsellor, supervisor, or mentor. Working with them is a gift—you'll experience remarkable clinical skill, steady compassion, meaningful growth, and likely, some wonderfully healing belly laughs along the way.”

Tina Borsa (she/her)

“Words cannot fully describe what a fantastic supervisor Shadi is. They are compassionate, kind, understanding, and very knowledgable. They model their counseling skills through their mentoring. You will feel like you can be honest, vulnerable, authentic with them as a supervisor. I feel so confident in my abilities as a therapist largely because of Shadi's support.”

Rae Bandla (they/them)

“If navigating interlocking oppressive systems out there feels like a never-ending, scorching heatwave, talking to Shadi feels like the first minute you step into the cool embrace of shade. They're such a lovely human being whose intersecting identities and life experiences have directly informed their calm, introspection-driven supervision style.

"Working with Shadi provides the space to just be, compassion fatigue and grief and all. This alone is incredibly rare and valuable in our field, and it is even more so while you gain valuable insight into yourself, your clients, and your clinical practice at the same time.”

Requirements and Logistics

All sessions take place via Zoom, and you are asked to keep your camera on for the duration of each call (exceptions for short breaks or accessibility needs). We start on time, so please arrive a few minutes early to ensure we can all begin together.

This group will be a good fit for you if you’ve had a bit of time “on the ground” as it were. For that reason, I ask that you have at least 6 months of experience providing therapy or counselling post-graduation.

This is a 5-month, once monthly commitment. We understand there are sometimes unavoidable causes of absences, and we really value your time with us when you can make it. Please take this into consideration as you plan to include this opportunity in your calendar over the next few months!

*There are no refunds or makeup sessions provided for missed sessions.

Pricing

A core component of this offering is the commitment to your own growth and to being in community with one another. This is reflected in the pricing policies. In signing up for this group, you are committing to the full 5 months.

This program fee is offered on a scale, and I invite you to select an amount within that which feels aligned and accessible for you. It can sometimes be tough to figure out where to land, so I encourage you to consider how much you charge for your full-fee clients, how much of your caseload is sliding scale, your personal financial situation (housing, costs of living etc.), and your own intersections of privilege and marginalization. The rate you choose should not put you in financial hardship and should simultaneously honour the experience you will receive through the program. The rate you select will not impact your acceptance into the program, as you will determine this rate after you have been accepted.

Fee Scale: $500 - $800 CAD

(This fee scale is for the entire program, and works out to a range of $50 - $80 per hour. Clinical Supervision is tax exempt.)

Upon acceptance to the program, you will select one of two payment options:

Option 1: Payment in Full

Due upon acceptance

Option 2: Monthly Payments

$160 deposit due upon acceptance followed by equal payments of the balance due on the 1st of each month for 8 months starting September 1st 2026

Payments can be made via e-transfer or credit card. If you sign up for option 2, you will be required to keep a valid credit card on file even if you choose to pay via e-transfer. Receipts will always be provided.

Refund Policy: Until July 30th 2026, a full refund minus the $160 deposit. After August 1st 2026, no refunds. Registration is transferrable subject to a $75 administrative fee.

How to Register

This supervision and training program is intentionally designed to provide space for you to learn, grow, feel challenged, supported, and co-create a community of likeminded therapists. In order to do this, it’s vital that the cohort not be too big which is why I’m limiting each cohort to 8 people. I’m inviting interested individuals to submit an expression of interest using the form below. You’ll hear back from me shortly after your submit the form. Once you’re accepted, you’ll select a payment option that works best for you and away we go!

My supervision style is kind and supportive but committed to your growth.  This means I will gently challenge you when necessary and ensure you are working near your learning edges.  I take a developmental approach to supervision, meaning that I consider where you’re at in your program or career, and how your supervision needs may differ accordingly.

Just as with my counselling clients, I believe my supervisees bring a wealth of knowledge and wisdom with them, and that we have much to learn from each other.  I’d much rather be a Guide on the Side than the Sage on the Stage.
