I am a first-generation Canadian of Indo-Trinidadian descent; I am pansexual, polyamorous and nonbinary; I am neurodivergent (ADHD, PTSD); I am chronically ill (mostly central sensitivity syndromes -- IYKYK) and disabled.
I was born and raised on Treaty One territory (known colonially as “Winnipeg”), the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene peoples, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. I currently live on the traditional and unceded homelands of the L’kwungen peoples, now known as the Songhees and Esquimault Nations, in what is colonially called “Victoria, BC”.
I play piano and guitar, and I sing. I also played French horn for many years (band geek alert)!
My background is in zoology, and I love being in nature; I particularly enjoy traipsing through the woods and tidepool hopping.
I enjoy many types of movement, such as yoga, dance, swimming, and martial arts, but am not the poster child for coordination.
I also like to grow things, especially Caribbean hot peppers!

My primary modalities are Somatic Transformation and EMDR. I work with you and your nervous system to help you feel safer in the world, and to liberate yourself from traumatic memories.
I take an intersectional approach, exploring how each of your identities and the interactions between them have shaped your experiences; I am also a huge fan of response-based practice, which focuses on how people maintain their dignity in oppressive situations and resist against violence.
I think therapy can and should be uplifting, empowering, and even joyful sometimes. You've come here to feel better, so why not start now?
I think I'm funny as hell, but you can be the judge of that!
-
I generally work Monday through Thursday between 11 am and 3:30 pm PST
Because of my limited energy levels, I am currently seeing just a couple of folks a day, so get those appointments while they're hot!
Feel free to book a free introductory session here, and if you have further questions, you can email our Client Care Coordinator, Nicole.
