Are you a 2SLGBTQIA+ recent graduate of an MA or MSW program living in Canada? Are you looking to increase your clinical skills through supervision and training with a unique, dynamic, supportive and engaging team of counsellors?

Do you have lived experience in 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and experience supporting the communities we serve?

If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Why consider Our Landing Place for your Post-Graduate Externship?

We work hard to ensure everyone on our team feels valued and cared about, and that includes our post-graduate externs.

We seek to build lasting relationships within our team while supporting your growth as a person and a therapist.

We offer two types of externship: an internal externship where you’ll join the Our Landing Place Team as a Post-Graduate Extern, and an external externship where you’ll receive the same level of clinical and learning support while working in your own private practice, at a group practice, or in an agency or other workplace.

Over the course of your 6-month post-graduate externship, you will grow your caseload and receive individualized support from our team of supervisors. You’ll join the OLP team for ongoing continuing education opportunities as well as attending small group supervision in addition to 1-on-1 supervision.

Internal Externs receive competitive compensation and all supervision, continuing education, and administrative infrastructure and support is included. You see a minimum of 10 clients per week.

External Externs pay a monthly supervision and learning fee that provides access to all supervision and continuing education. If you are working on growing your caseload in your private practice, our administrative team will include you in our referral options provided to clients to support your practice’s growth.

We offer the following:

  • supervision (individual and small-group)

  • continuing education

  • a warm and meaningful team environment

  • administrative support and infrastructure

  • opportunities to design and facilitate trainings, workshops, and presentations

  • opportunities to facilitate groups

  • a receptive support team who value your input and suggestions

  • flexible scheduling (you design your schedule to meet your needs)

  • competitive compensation (internal externships only)

  • … and so much more!

What we’re looking for:

  • recent graduates of Masters in Counselling Psychology, Masters in Social Work, and equivalent programs

  • diverse lenses and lived/living experiences

  • a deep understanding of intersectional 2SLGBTQIA+ identities and experiences

  • availability to offer a minimum of 10 client hours per week with some evening and/or weekend availability (internal externs only)
