Clinical Supervision

with Alice Curitz, PhD RCC CCC CST CT. Founder & Director of Our Landing Place

1-on-1 and group supervision available

Hi, I'm Alice (she/her).

If you’re like me, you could chat about psychology all day (and often do if there’s a willing listener!)

When there’s a training on connection, intimacy, or well-being, you’re at the conference or in the Zoom room where it happens.

You’re no stranger to the workshop Q&A session, but now as you continue to grow as a clinician, you’re looking for more solid, ongoing support.

As a clinical supervisor, I hold space for emerging and experienced therapists to find their rhythm and voice. Because when you find it, the work you do with your clients no longer overwhelms you. It energizes you.

In my work as a relationship therapist, supervisor, and founder of a queer-centred therapy collective, I’m not modality-specific (although I certainly have certain ones I lean into). I’ve always had to adapt my approaches to have a lens that serves a community with nuanced and unique needs.

Maybe you can relate through your practical experience in the field. Some of the modalities you learned in school might feel a bit too prescriptive or not applicable to the clients you see. You’re interested in taking a multi-lens approach or, at the very least, expanding the lens you currently have.

My supervision style is collaborative and personalized for you.

Let’s explore what modalities may enhance or complement the great clinical work you’re already doing. Because why abandon a therapeutic framework you love?

The right approach is always the one that works for your client and aligns with your clinical goals. We’ll take a holistic approach to exploring what approaches resonate with you and the unique humans you help.

Then, we’ll work together to make them your own. That’s when you become the best clinician version of yourself.

Through our time together in supervision, you’ll…

●      …have a safe space for self-reflection

●      …enhance your therapeutic practice

●      …improve your clinical skills

●      …experience personal and professional growth

●      …build a practice that feels authentic to who you are

This isn’t a traditional workshop. It’s a conversation. Bring a question, a challenging situation, or a therapist-client interaction that’s made you second-guess yourself.

When you’ve identified moments of transference or countertransference (or a client has brought it up in session), it’s beneficial to talk about your emotional experiences or activations with the help of a fellow therapist like me. Because let’s be honest. That’s a normal part of the job and you’re not the first therapist to recognize when it happens!

I love sharing what I’ve learned as a therapist and business owner, but the point isn’t to copy what I’ve done. I won’t tell you what changes to make, but I’ll offer you new ways to conceptualize your work.

Our time together isn’t bound by a strict schedule either. I’m available as often as you need, whether 1-on-1 or in a group setting. We’ll determine the frequency of our sessions together and I’m happy to provide ongoing support to clinicians across Canada as well as internationally.

Through our connection, my hope is you’ll feel empowered to respond in ways that meet your client’s needs while still being authentic to who you are and the type of practice you want to build.

My areas of clinical focus are:

  • Relationships

  • Sex and Intimacy

  • Gender and Sexuality

  • Neurodivergence and Disabilities (particularly relationship pairings of Autism and ADHD)

  • Self Esteem and Body/Sexual Confidence

I grew up in England but have travelled and lived all over the world. I moved to Canada in my early twenties and have lived in Ontario, British Columbia and Prince Edward Island. My wife and I love exploring Canada's beauty by hiking with our dog and going on road trips whenever possible. We’re avid travellers, with a long list of places across the globe that we hope to explore. In my downtime, you'll find me in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, sipping hot chocolate while snuggled up with a good book, playing music in orchestras and bands, gardening, and spending time with loved ones.

I am grateful to live, work and play on unceded traditional Abegweit of the Mi’kmaq people. I continuously work on my allyship by listening to and learning from those with lived experiences different than my own, actively engaging in a variety of communities, and ongoing self-reflection.

Session Length and Fee:

Supervision fees are offered on a scale, and I invite you to select an amount within that which feels aligned and accessible for you. It can sometimes be tough to figure out where to land, so I encourage you to consider how much you charge for your full-fee clients, how much of your caseload is sliding scale, your personal financial situation (housing, costs of living etc.), and your own intersections of privilege and marginalization. The rate you choose should not put you in financial hardship and should simultaneously honour the work we will do together.

Individual supervision sessions are up to 75 minutes with a rate of $200-255.

Dyadic or small-group supervision sessions are up to 95 minutes with a rate of $160-200 per person for dyads and $95-180 per person for small groups.

Clinical Supervision services are GST and HST exempt.

Session Frequency

My goal is to support you in the ways that you need, including at a frequency that allows you to access the level of support that will best serve you. As such, you are welcome to schedule regular sessions with me, or to connect as-and-when you desire.

I also offer small-group cohorts that provide more structure in terms of frequent meetings. These cohorts require a minimum commitment and regular attendance. Check out my upcoming cohorts here.
